Centering Prayer

There are two opportunities for Centering Prayer at GSOTH. One group meets weekly on Tuesdays at 9:30am, and the other group meets on Saturdays at 9am. We welcome you to share with either group at your convenience. We meet in the church library and begin with a twenty minute period of silent prayer, followed by a spiritually enriching DVD and a brief time of sharing. Children's Ministry

ChildrenChildren's Ministry for children ages 3-12, will be held weekly during the 9:00am Sunday Service.  During this time, we will study the weekly lesson through discussion, dramatic play, and craft making.  The curriculum will be a mix of Liturgy of the Word and the catechesis of the Good Shepherd/Godly Play programs.  This is a time for children to learn about Jesus and have some fun for a 45 minute period while their parents/guardians are in the 9:00am Family Service.  The children will then return to their family in the church, for the announcements and the remainder of the service.

Youth Ministry

kidsjumpingintopoolGood Shepherd of the Hills offers a youth program for junior and senior high students that combines Biblical teaching with fellowship and fun.  Come join us each Sunday for youth services starting at 9 am.  After the service, we enjoy lunch together and a fun, preplanned activity.  Contact Jarrod at or 602-413-5972 for our weekly event.

Adult Christian Formation

EFM for Adults - Thursdays from 1:30 to 4:30 pm - In Season

EFM (Education for Ministry) is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South.  Students sign up one year at a time for this four year program.  It covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy and theology.  Students meet weekly, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors.  EFM is for the student who wants to dig deeper into the Christian faith.  It trains you to think theologically, expands your faith and your understanding of our Christian heritage, and provides you with confidence to be Christ's minister.
