Children's Ministry Update on Easter Activities!

Unfortunately due to the current COVID restrictions and our inability to use the Hall, Children's Ministry rooms and

playground, we will not be doing an Easter Egg Hunt this year.

Ashley will be putting together Resurrection Eggs for each family that will be available for pick up in Maitland Hall

beginning this Sunday 3.28.21.

Children attending the Easter Services will also receive a small gift from the church.

GSOTH Children's Tree

There is still time to help us decorate our Maitland Hall children's tree before our Christmas Eve Services! Just stop by the Maitland Hall building to pick up a kids ornament craft kit, assemble at home and drop it off when completed! If you would rather, you can put your ornament on your own tree and email us a picture and we will add it to our Virtual Christmas Tree! Kits include Bell Ornament, Wreath, and Nativity Ornament (Please note, The Nativity craft kit requires glue and scissors, which are not in the kit)

We were so happy to be able to send our VBS bags home with children and families this July. We sent bags to 12 families and 30 children through the generosity of ECS and Good Shepherd. Each bag had a "handbook" for each day of the week. It contained the readings, a link to music and movement, directions for the projects, and snack directions. We were able to include all of the needed materials and supplies so the week was done for families.

The feedback was awesome! The families were so excited to sit down with their children or grandchildren and complete the activities as a family. From suncatchers to inspirational bracelets to rainbow sprinkled pretzels and M&M's- the kids had a blast. The children decided on a rainbow theme and we feel our theme of "VBS at Home 2020- A Week Filled with God's Hope and Promises" was felt through the happy faces in the pictures.

All over the World people are decorating their front windows and doors with rainbows. While the message may vary- we know in Genesis that the rainbow symbolizes that God Keeps His Promises.

We want to challenge you to create a rainbow window of your own BUT to add to it a verse, hymn, or lyric that speaks to you and your family during this time. You can paint a rainbow, make one out of paper, cut out different shapes, the sky is the limit!

We used a variety of paper to make a rainbow of hearts on our front window. During this time "His Banner Over Me" has resonated in my heart and in our home it has brought comfort. Our girls decorated the lyrics to the song to hang over our rainbow.

We hope that this project will bring some fun to your homes- when you look out your windows it will fill your heart with joy. When people drive by it will fill their hearts with joy!

If you participate- take a picture and send it to
